Treatment Rotation Planner Guide

The Treatment Rotation Planner helps you build resistance-aware treatment schedules across multiple seasons.

Why rotation matters:

Using the same chemical class repeatedly selects for resistant mite populations. Rotating between different modes of action slows resistance development and keeps your treatments effective.

Chemical classes available:

  • Organic Acid: Oxalic acid, formic acid — low resistance risk
  • Essential Oil: Thymol (Apiguard, ApiLife VAR) — low resistance risk
  • Synthetic: Amitraz (Apivar), tau-fluvalinate (Apistan), coumaphos (CheckMite+) — higher resistance risk
  • Biological: Hop Guard — low resistance risk

  • Best practices:

  • Alternate chemical classes between treatment rounds
  • Use at least 3 treatments from 2+ classes per year
  • Track efficacy over time to detect early resistance signs
  • Organic acids and essential oils have lower resistance risk than synthetics
